Safeguarding Policy

Sevenoaks and District Motor Club safeguarding policy.

 Sevenoaks and District Motor Club (SDMC) has a responsibility to protect all members, volunteers, their families and the wider public at any event organised by the club be that a motorsport, social or general event.

Therefore, the club’s roles and responsibilities are set out below.

Policy aims

  • To promote and safe and positive environment for all young and at risk

persons to attend any SDMC events.

  • Provide all the necessary information for all event staff and volunteers to meet the clubs safeguarding responsibilities as set out by the government guidance and legislation.
  • To be able to demonstrate the club’s commitment to keep all young and at-risk persons safe at any club run event.

There are many types of abuse / Harassment and it is important that all attendees at any event are aware they have a duty to ensure the type of abuse that could cause a concern as listed but not wholly defined.

  • Bullying
  • Cyber abuse
  • Peer on per abuse
  • Racial abuse.
  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Neglect

Issues can occur at any level of motorsport and it is important to obtain the correct information for all parties.

The club safeguarding officer is Megan Williams, meganwilliams579@yahoo.co.uk and she should be the initial point of contact for any issues you feel the need to report. Megan will in turn look into the matter and contact MSUK for further guidance if required to be able to deal with the matter in hand.
