As most of you are aware Chris Judge formally resigned as Committee Chairman of Sevenoaks & District Motor Club at the AGM in May; his reason for leaving the role is to allow someone of younger age to take up the position.
At our last committee meeting on Wednesday night Chris also stood down from all his other committee roles, naturally his decision to leave the Committee is well respected. Chris’s regular monthly contribution in the Club magazine “Chairman’s Chat” was always well received and eagerly anticipated. His editorial skills can only be described as totally professional, his historic knowledge of the Club and Motor Sport generally is immense and he put this to good use when fulfilling the monthly editorial. He has offered to remain available as a resource.
In the interim and until a replacement can be found for Chris, David Balderson will undertake the role as Acting Chairman, David has asked for any comments and good wishes for Chris to be sent to him for publication.
The committee and I’m sure all the club members would like to thank Chris for all his hard work and dedication to the club over the last four decades.
Today, we are delighted to report that Julie Clayden is now fulfilling the role as Club Secretary; she will be informing Motor Sport UK, (MSUK) and other associated agencies of these changes.
With all best wishes
David Balderson on behalf or the Sevenoaks & District Motor Club committee

Message from Trevor Willard
Unfortunately, I am sorry to be the bearer of some sad news, Dr Frank Howie sadly passed away on 16th October having lost his long battle with cancer. Frank used to provide his services as the Circuit Doctor for The Pestalozzi Speed Hill Climb back in day where I used to be Clerk of the Course before passing it onto Mervyn Kennard and for many years after at BARC and other events at Lydden Hill and many other circuits.
Having spoken to his wife Maggie earlier today, she said his funeral is on Monday 20th November at 12:00 in St Andrews Church, Coastguard Ln, Fairlight, Hastings TN35 4AB. I am of course not suggesting that anyone from the Sevenoaks & DMC attends unless they wish to do so.
He will no doubt be very fondly remembered by many marshals and competitors alike.
Should anyone wish to get in touch please feel free to contact me
